10th October 2008 - Ebay Review Of Red Dwarf V.

I'm a big fan of Red Dwarf and I've seen them hundreds of times but I never had Series 5 on DVD so I bought one from Ebay.

It was a little bit smelly actually, whoever owned it previously was clearly a smoker. It's strange how the smell gets everywhere, I think it's only non-smokers that notice. Anyway back to the point of this blog...

Ebay asked me to write a review so I did and posted it on their site so if you're ever planning to buy a DVD box set of Red Dwarf V then you can read the review by me. I've posted it below too:

"I'm a big fan of Red Dwarf and I'm sure you are too which is why you are planning to buy Series 5, so instead of reviewing the episodes I'll review all the extras that you get on the DVD.
It is on two discs and comes with a 12 page booklet explaining each episode as well as some titbits of info.
Each episode has cast commentary by Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules, Robert Llewellyn and Hattie Hayridge but not Craig Charles. There is also Fan Commentary on the 'Back to Reality' episode.
There's also Smeg Ups, lots of deleteted scenes, a short radio sketch by Chris Barrie, photo gallery, interviews, music clips and trailers.
There's also a documentry about the American pilot Red Dwarf episode which is very interesting as it mentions all the chaos around writing the script and how American and UK attitude towards making a show is very different.
In the interviews it also mentions the problems they had with series 5 and how some episodes had to be finished by a different director, and all the problems caused by a change of director.
I review this series as excellent, and the DVD box set as excellent too. :)"
