Poetry Corner
A small selection of poetry by Raymond Johnson

I wrote this in the early 1980s when I was still at school. Instead of a school magazine we had a noticeboard attached to a window which included my poem. It's a simple rhyming poem about a mouse meeting Santa. I was so proud of it at the time yet it seems so childish now.

Christmas Poem

The mouse,
Ran into the house.

Seeing all the drinks, Coke, Shandy and Fanta,
Then he saw Santa.

He bent on his knees,
And gave the mouse some cheese.

He said,
Come over here and meet my reindeer.

Rudolph was the one he chose,
Because he has a red nose.
