I've always been a big fan of the Tomb Raider games ever since I saw the original on the PlayStation. I was never into consoles, I was a computer gamer, but after seeing Lara Croft for the first time and marvelling at the state of the art graphics I purchased a PlayStation right away. I was blown away by how amazing the game was and it didn't take me too long to finish it only to then play it again. I later purchased the PC version and a Saga Saturn console to replay the game.

As well as the game and later its sequels I also purchased a lot other items such as action figures, dioramas, statuettes, posters and pretty much any magazine that had Lara Croft on the cover. In September 2000 I bought a copy of PSW (PlayStation World) magazine due to an official Lara Croft model appearing on the cover. I won't mention her name as that's not the purpose of this little website. Within the magazine was an interview where upon she made comments about modelling in general then spoke about Tomb Raider calling men sad for playing video games implying games were for children. Then spoke about men being perverts for lusting after video game characters.

I was genuinely annoyed and wrote to the magazine. To my surprise in the November issue they printed my letter and it was declared the winner. I won a PlayStation steering wheel for use in racing games. It just goes to show sometimes the best way to write is with anger. I guess that was why they selected it.
