Poetry Corner
A small selection of poetry by Raymond Johnson

I created this haiku for a promotional website about a woman named Nozomi who is obsessed with butterflies. It's fairly simple in concept with only a short number of verses but it gets right to the point of how butterflies make her feel. I personally love butterflies but not quite to the extent that Nozomi does.

Butterfly

Silent flapping wings,
Leaves my heart all aflutter,
Gentleness abounds.

On the gentle breeze,
Among the garden thistles,
Feasting the nectar.

Wings of bright colour,
Painted by nature herself,
Lifting my sprits.
